string option for footline

Using \setbeamertemplate{footer element1}{something} results in vertically displaced entry in footline. Add string option to footline so that strings can be used and are vertically aligned with the defaults and/or logos. Add example \setbeamertemplate{footer element1}[string]{This slide} to documentation.
